I decided to go for a walk out of the hotel after Elizabeth handed me my room key after leaving lunch. There are two other buildings that I saw coming into town, so I figured I would check one out. I could only get a clear view of one of them on the way here, but the other one was on the other side of the hotel, which was smack dab in the middle of town, so I decided to go around to the other side of the hotel and start making my way towards that other building.
I eventually got a good look at the building from afar. It looks fairly generic, besides the double doors and the sign just above it. I can't read what it says from here, though.
I go to continue moving forward to check it out, but...
"Hey."
A voice comes out from behind me. I turn around to see a man in a cop outfit, wearing a fedora. He's one of the rare types that doesn't look good in a fedora, but he doesn't look bad necessarily.
"Yeah?" Not much else I can say.
"Have you already gone into the hotel?"
"Yeah, I just left, actually."
"Really?" He had moderate suspicion in his voice.
"Yeah, I met Elizabeth and everything."
His eyes open a little wider when I say her name. It should be enough to clear my suspicion.
"Are you staying the night, or are you staying longer?"
This time it just seems like he wants to know out of curiosity.
"Just a night or two."
"Ah. That makes sense." Makes sense?
"What do you mean?"
"Normally when people come here, they feel a sense of safety, as if they reached a safe haven, since something like that isn't available in miles, but you don't have that feeling."
"What? How can you tell?"
"I can tell just by looking at you, I can tell you were feeling a sense of curiosity. Such feelings wouldn't make sense normally, since the feeling of relief always lasts at least an entire day."
What the hell is this guy going on about? ...and why do I feel so stressed? Why can't I refute? Dammit, this guy is accusing you of something, just respond!
"The only way that the feelings you're feeling make any sense, is if you came here by the train. Because then you would have just come from Rosemerry town!"
A Train!
In that moment, Isaac realised two things! Both the purpose of the building he was going to check on, and that he did in fact reach here by taking the path of the train. However, despite knowing for sure that he took the same path of the train, he knows that he didn't ride the train at all, or any feelings that would lead to him realizing that he did!
"And just now! You felt shocked by my accusation! Since you weren't seen by me or the other guards watching the train, and that you're feeling curious, then you're absolutely a spy! There's no other reason for these mixture of feelings and events to be happening at the same time!"
Isaac was stunned, and could not respond or even think fast enough to stop the enemy's upcoming attack, both due to his shock of the situation, and the remembrance of the fact that he did in fact sneak his way through the railroad's path, rather than riding the train.
Mysteries were swirling through Isaac's mind. Why do I feel like I wasn't alone? Why do I not remember this town? Why did I even bother sneaking past through the railroad instead of just taking the train? All of these things prevented him from reacting or even realizing that the enemy in front of them had drawn his gun, and he swiftly fired a bullet into Isaac's left leg!
